Details

I collaborated with an international, interdisciplinary team to address the rising issue of indoor air pollution, which disproportionately impacts respiratory health and quality of life. Our solution, “Bubbl3s, combined sustainability and innovation by utilizing microalgae and natural filters in an air purification system designed for residential use.

Role & Contributions:

  • As Chief Design Officer, I led the design and prototyping efforts, ensuring that
Bubbl3s was both functional and visually appealing.
  • Conducted user research and iterative prototyping to develop a minimum
    viable product (MVP).
  • Directed team brainstorming sessions to incorporate diverse perspectives into
    the final product design.

Solution Highlights:

  • Customizable air filters leveraging coconut fibers to capture harmful VOCs and
reindeer moss to metabolize fine dust while cooling the air.
  • A sleek, low-maintenance design that prioritizes both usability and
    sustainability.

Achievements:

  • Secured a top 10 placement out of over 100 participating teams.
  • Pitched the concept to a panel of investors, demonstrating scalability and market
    viability.
  • Gained hands-on experience in customer discovery, agile project management,
    and design thinking.

This immersive program, endorsed by leading institutions such as UC Berkeley and Stanford University, equipped me with skills in rapid innovation, collaboration across cultural and
disciplinary lines, and the creation of scalable business models.
